Guardian Program

In order to give OUR breeding dogs the absolute best life, it is important to limit how many dogs we personally kept in our home.  In order to breed quality dogs, which is our number one goal, we also need to keep, evaluate, and add quality bloodlines to our breeding program. So, how is all of this going to be possible? For us, and many other breeders like us, the solution is a Guardian Program. Instead of breeding dogs and finding homes for them once they are retired from breeding, or keeping too many dogs in the home, we want to find the best forever homes for our puppies now, so that they may grow up with their family.

Our Guardian Home program will allow us and other dog breeders like us to expand our dog breeding program and will help us to breed the very highest quality French Bulldog puppies the right way.  As being a Guardian home with us, you get a quality puppy, and the dog stays with you as your family member for the life of the dog as we retain all breeding rights for a certain number of litters. For females, this will start with the second or third heat cycle and ending once the female has whelped a set number of litters. Males will be available for our breeding purposes for at least up to 5 years of age. Each guardian dog contract is unique, but it is usually between 1 and 3 litters for our females depending on what we are trying to accomplish with that particular female and how well she reacts to being a Mother.

There are many things that Guardian families need to be considered.

  • Guardians of females must deal with several heat cycles and keeping their girl protected from unwanted males. The Guardian family will need to learn the signs of a heat cycle and be willing to communicate, cooperate and coordinate with us to ensure successful breeding.

  • Guardians must be willing to train the dog the basic obedience commands (off, down, sit, back, leave it, crate)

  • Guardians must ensure the puppy is socialized to adults, children, and other dogs.

  • Guardians must provide appropriate veterinary care.

  • Guardians must have previous dog experience.

  • Emergency care when needed.

  • Guardians must feed the dog a diet approved by the breeder.

  • Guardians must be able and willing to identify and notify us immediately when a female begins her heat cycle.

  • Guardians must not allow the female in heat near any other intact males.

  • Guardians must not allow a male guardian to breed with unapproved females.

  • Guardians must live within a reasonable driving distance from New York City, no more than 1 to 2 hours away (preferable).

  • Guardians must communicate, cooperate and coordinate with the breeder regarding testing, mating, whelping, and other breeding-related activities.

Our Guardian Home program is actually a very simple program even though it may seem like there are a lot of details. The main thing to remember is this, there is no better way than the Guardian Home program to help reputable breeders like ourselves to continue to breed our dogs in a humane and loving environment and out of cages, kennels, and puppy mills. So in order to continue to produce HAPPY and HEALTHY puppies for families who are looking for a forever pet, we have adopted this wonderful program.
